Klaus laughs at the question, unable to stomach just what she's asking of him. He doesn't know how long it's been for any of them, but he can feel every single day of the last ten months as though it slowly shreds his heart into a thousand pieces. When he finally looks up at her, he looks exhausted, dark circles bruised into semi-permanence under his eyes, his hair at odd angles and damp.
"Oh, never been better," though his voice comes out in a wheezy sort of rasp, unenthused and detached. "Just took a little trip. But I'm back, don't worry." He laughs again, weakly, mirthlessly, and turns to find his shirt, fumbling to pull it over his head. The stretch of his arms almost hurts and it shows in his face, as he winces and breathes through it all.

"Everyone back to being one big happy family?"
