For a moment Diego is ready to make the quip that he may be the family bulldog, but that just means he'll keep her safe while he's gone, but the comment dies in his lips before he can form the words. Allison wouldn't be on that bed if that was the case, after all; he can't say shit like that right now. But, before he can let his thoughts wander too far, Klaus is leaning against him, and Diego returns the gesture by doing the same. It's brief, just the slightest lean, but enough for them both to remember that despite all the shit from the last twelve years, despite all the crap between them, they're still brothers. For better or for worse, that won't change.

"Good," he just responds instead at his agreement. When he catches the way he fidgets, though, it becomes Diego's turn to rest his hand on his brother's shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze. "You're right, it shouldn't have. But we'll stop Jenkins before this happens again; we'll get Vanya back. It's what Allison would be telling us to go do."

She'd still be out there, looking for Vanya. Just how she had been looking for Klaus just a few days ago. For a moment the thought makes him pause, guilt and shame swirling in his gut at the memory because he had dismissed Klaus's disappearance. He had assumed it had been nothing more than the troubled brother going back to his old ways, but it had been something so much worse. And he hadn't caught on, just because he had been too blind to see the change in him.

If only Reginald could see them now.

He clears his throat slightly before giving his shoulder another squeeze. "Go. Clean yourself up, grab a sandwich. You can't look like shit when she wakes up, she doesn't need that. I'll be here." He'd suggest for him to take a nap, but he knows that's pushing his luck. "We'll make this right, Klaus. One way or another, we'll fix all this." He glances towards Allison for a moment before turning back to Klaus. "...maybe after that you can fill me in on...you know. Whatever you've been up to the last few years."
